Mag. Birgit Noha, LLM (UC Berkeley)

Birgit Noha passed her bar exam in 1998. She graduated from the University of Vienna in law in 1992 (ranking top 1 %) where she was a research assistant while pursuing her studies. She participated in the Erasmus exchange program on EEC competition and international law with Paris II University (Université Panthéon-Assas, Paris II). She holds a postgraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley where she focused on intellectual property law (unfair competition, trademark and copyright law). She has experience as co-arbitrator and is also a lecturer at the Wiener Neustadt Austrian Marketing University of Applied Sciences.

Professional activities

Birgit Noha practiced law as a clerk with Austrian Courts and with well-known Austrian business law firms first as an associate and then as an attorney and as in-house counsel at a leading Austrian project finance and leasing company.

She regularly lectures on internet law, social media law and data protection at the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and at the WiFi Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland and has been a certified data protection officer since the beginning of 2018.

She passed the judge’s supplementary examination in 2012 with very good results. Since 2016 she is examination commissioner for the bar examination at Vienna Higher Regional Court.
