Franz-Martin Orou is also admitted as an attorney-at-law in Austria. He graduated from the University of Innsbruck in law and participated in the exchange program on EEC law and international law with the University of Louvain-La-Neuve/Belgium. As a research assistant at the University of Bergen in Norway, he has written various articles on EEC law. He was awarded the degree of Doctor iuris (with distinction) from the University of Innsbruck. His doctoral thesis was on “The Protection of Industrial Design in German-Speaking Countries Under Regard of the European Framework” (published).
He also holds an international postgraduate degree in International and European Trade Law from the University of Leicester, England and has written various articles on design protection and trademark law and a handbook on Multimedia Law. He is also a lecturer at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
He practiced law as a clerk with Austrian Courts and within three medium to large corporate law firms.
Franz-Martin-Orou regularly is a lecturer on trademarks and on counterfeiting at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Austria.
His main practice areas are Intellectual Property, Trademark - Trademark Management, Anti-piracy (Counterfeiting), Copyright Law, Design Law, Media and IT-Law, Licensing Law Franchising, Unfair Competition and Corporate Law.
